SCION SQ GC-MS

The SCION (SQ) GC-MS is designed for today’s fast paced analytical laboratory.

Innovative design features such as a Lens-Free ion path, heated ion optics and an Extended Dynamic Range (EDR) detector enable the SCION SQ to deliver accurate quantification and identification on a routine basis, even in complex matrices. As ions pass through a mass spectrometer a significant portion is lost every time they encounter a lens.

Due to its unique design the SCION SQ doesn’t have any lenses thus increasing the sensitivity of the instrument by reducing ion losses. Another major advantage of having no lenses the source is the only part to clean, so you can spend more time analysing samples and less time maintaining your instrument.

The SQ is integrated with our SCION 436 or 456 GC as sole or as additional detector.

AUTOSAMPLERS:

Regardless of the type or number of samples, SCION GC and GC-MS have an automated solution that will meet your requirements.

Two sampler options are available for SCION chromatographs: 8400 and 8410. Each can be adapted to specific sampling needs and workloads. Third-party sampling devices such as TELEDYNE / TEKMAR Versa for Headspace sampling and CTC PALxt systems also easily integrate with GC / GCMS chromatographs.

The Scion 6100 Quaternary pump has a new low-pressure mode called High Frequent Mode (HFM), which utilises a double switching function of proportioning valves. HFM with the high-speed real-time feedback control system greatly suppresses liquid pulsation for superior reproducibility of gradient and retention times.

• Excellent injection volume precision and ultra-low carry-over

The newly adopted high-precision syringe drive unit provides excellent injection volume precision. Dead volume in the SCION 6210/6220 Autosampler flow path has been minimised. The SCION 6310/6320 column oven has a very precise cooling / thermostating of the columns based on Peltier cooling / heating, which ensures very symmetrical analyte peaks after separation on the column.
