Verios™ XHR SEM

The best possible low-kV SEM resolution and materials contrast.

Verios G4 scanning electron microscope (SEM) is geared toward increasing publishable results from your lab. The Verios SEM enables new insights by extending sub-nanometer resolution over the full 1 keV to 30 keV energy range to novel materials, such as catalyst particles, nanotubes, porosities, interfaces, biological objects, and other nanoscale structures. High-resolution, high-contrast images are obtained without the need to transition to TEM or other imaging techniques. The Verios SEM offers the flexibility required for research applications to accommodate large specimens like full wafers or metallurgical samples.

Apreo is the most versatile high-performance FEG-SEM. With its revolutionary combination of lens design - a combination of electrostatic and magnetic technology - Apreo delivers superior resolution and signal selection. All this makes Apreo SEM the platform of choice for the research of nanoparticles, catalysts, powders and nano devices, without reducing the performance of, for example, magnetic samples.

Apreo SEM uses a unique scattered radiation detection system using the pioneering technology of segmented BSD detectors, which provides excellent material contrast, even with very inclined samples, at short working distances or on very sensitive samples.

The new lens connection further enhances contrast with energy filtering to capture non-charged samples (insulators). The optional Low Vacuum mode now allows a maximum chamber pressure of 500 Pa to record even the most demanding insulators. The Quattro is an ultra versatile high-resolution FEG-SEM with a unique E-SEM option. It combines all-performance in imaging and analytics modes (EDS, WDS, EBSD, CL…) with a unique mode in near-atmospheric conditions (ESEM ™). Axia ChemiSEM, unlike traditional SEMs, is unique in that it always collects EDS data in the background. Aquilos™ Cryo-FIB:

Aquilos ™ is the first Cryo-FIB/cryo-DualBeam (focused ion beam / scanning microscope) intended for the preparation of frozen, thin lamella samples from biological samples for high resolution tomographic image in a cryo-TEM microscope (cryo-TEM).

Transmission electron microscopes (TEM) emit an electron beam through an ultra-thin layer of sample. Electrons interact with the sample as they pass through it, producing information about the internal structure of the sample. Many Thermofisher Scientific TEMs have fully automated operation and are capable of sub-Ångström resolution.


Krios G4 Cryo-TEM

300 kV Cryo TEM with improved productivity and compact design.

The new Krios G4 Cryo-TEM microscope allows you to research at the molecular level - easier, faster and more reliable than ever before. The most compact TEM in its class, the Krios G4 Cryo-TEM consists of a highly stable 300 kV TEM platform and the best autoloader (robot for cryogenic sample manipulation), which makes it ideal for automated applications such as particle analysis (SPA), cryo- electron tomography (cryoET) and micro electron diffraction (MicroED). Through a thorough redesign of the mechanical base frame and system housing, the height of the microscope has been reduced to less than 3 meters, allowing instruments to be installed in laboratories with a ceiling height below 3.04 m (~ 10 ft), thus avoiding costly room renovations. The Thermo Scientific Glacios Cryo Transmission Electron Microscope (Cryo-TEM) delivers a complete cryo-EM solution to a broad range of scientists. It features 200 kV XFEG optics, the industry-leading Autoloader (cryogenic sample manipulation robot), and the same innovative automation for ease of use as on the Krios G4 Cryo-TEM.
